seed crackers

Such an amazing recipe! Another Banting and Paleo friendly one, but not limited to those on these diets

Quick and simple to make, the longest part is the time spent in the oven. This is phenomenal as a bread alternative. High in fibre and rich in omega oils. An all round winner. I like to put hummus on, but tsatsiki, left overs or whatever floats your boat will work.

160g Sesame Seed

200g Sunflower seed

500ml water

1 tsp salt

2 tablespoon psyllium husks

preheat the oven to 160 deg C

in a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and leave to thicken (approx 10 min)

Spread the mixture as evenly as possible on either a baking tray or a silicone baking sheet. The mix should be even and without holes.

(I prefer the silicone sheet as it is completely non stick. If you use the baking tray, I suggest lining it with wax wrap. depending on the size of your baking tray, you may need 2 or one large silicone sheet.)

Bake for an hour, you make need to turn the tray around depending on your oven.

within an hour to hour and 15 minutes (once again depending on your oven) your crackers should be very crispy.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Once cool break or cut into convenient sizes and store in an airtight container.
